Dana Armstrong wants to live in a world where women rule the earth because most of the men have been eaten by dinosaurs, the fairies sprinkle you with magical pixie dust, and the vampires are bad AND sparkly. As a writer, she creates strong female characters who discover that the world is theirs if they decide to pluck the promises it offers. When she’s not writing, she’s usually found deep in the trenches of plotting the next book or running an online business. Her debut novel, Crimson Ties, hits the airwaves October 2020.       • Oh, wow! I think the most difficult thing about writing characters from a male POV is knowing exactly what they're thinking and feeling. I mean, I'd like to think I know what they're thinking and feeling, but is it true? I write romance so I'm often writing from the premise that he's in love and wants to protect his woman. It's difficult to write a character that may not be so easy.

      • I've been writing since I was about sixteen. And no, I won't tell you how old I am.... you'll have to guess! haha I used to read all the bodice-rippers when I was teen. I devoured them. I surprised my mother let me read those! Writing wasn't necessarily something I just decided to do one day. It was something I was always interested in. I excelled in my English/Language Arts classes and I gradually started writing stories with a pencil and paper. It's just evolved over my lifetime.

      • I have a serious love/hate relationship with writing. I love it. It's my passion. But the emotional toll it takes sometimes can definitely be draining, especially when things just aren't coming together like I wanted or expected them to. My advice for aspiring writers is to not give up on your dream and realize that it takes time to build a following. Don't write to become wealthy. Write because you love it - and that's it! And when you hit a roadblock, take a step back and try a different tactic.
