Drew Faraday is the author of two companion novels set during the troubled times called the Oregon Meltdown. Pearl Fields and the Oregon Meltdown was published in 2022, and Core Haven launched in July 2025.

They're both What If...? stories with the backdrop of a collapsed regional infrastructure & people fending for themselves & their groups. 𝑃𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑙 𝐹𝑖𝑒𝑙𝑑𝑠 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑂𝑟𝑒𝑔𝑜𝑛 𝑀𝑒𝑙𝑡𝑑𝑜𝑤𝑛 is told from the point-of-view of a convicted river merchant/gunrunner in prison; 𝐶𝑜𝑟𝑒 𝐻𝑎𝑣𝑒𝑛 is in third-person & involves a young man's harrowing journey to reunite with his family so they can escape along an evacuation corridor.
