BIOGRAPHY
F.L. Ruby was born in Freeport, New York and briefly lived on Long Island before moving to Ramsey, New Jersey, eventually moving to Upstate New York. Sean Roberts is F.L. Ruby's breakout debut novel. Since its release, Mr. Ruby has been actively involved in book club meetings, as well as book signings and meet and greet author nights. He recently taught a writer's workshop, "How to write characters, scenes, and settings." He's been interviewed on WMAP radio on Long Island to discuss Sean Roberts, as well as interviews with several media oulets.
He lives in Pittsford, New York with his three children: Mack, Sophie, and Tori.

A little about my novel...
Sean Roberts connects to you and to others more than we all think.
I believe we're all connected in some way, that six degrees of separation kind of thing. I've always felt a connection to Virginia, even though I was born on Long Island and grew up in Ramsey, New Jersey, twenty minutes outside NYC. My novel, Sean Roberts, shows this to be true. It's a novel based on my family ancestry, the Roberts from Roberts Cove, County Cork, Ireland. They came to America and settled in Grayson County, Virginia, founding their own Roberts Cove.
Sean Roberts has an element of fantasy that will take you into a strange and new world, while at the same time, keeping you in reality. Based on a blend of history, science, and psychology, the story stays true to its original theme, love, although it is often challenged by hate, hypocrisy, and deceit.
It's a roller coaster ride for every passionate, beating heart.
Down on his luck, small-town college professor Sean Roberts becomes involved in an adventure spanning centuries of time, through a series of dreams, all stimulated by a Revolutionary War medal passed down from William Roberts, his fifth great-grandfather. Sean's dreams rapidly tell the story of his own Irish ancestors, but in actuality, expand to everyone's life story--from past to present. The unexpected twists and turns take you on a journey of extreme highs and lows mixed with enough inner turmoil to impact Sean's close relationships, mainly his personal struggles with Phoebe Webb, his fiancé.
Sean Roberts is a love story too.
Wrapped within the story is warmth and wisdom. It will make you laugh, cry, and inspire you to think about the true meaning and purpose of life. The underlying theme of my novel is simple: love one another. Imagine what the world could be like if everyone understood this simple notion, especially nowadays. Think of a world with no wars, no hatred, and no oppression, only peace.
I hold five college degrees, all in education, including a doctorate from Columbia University. The fictitious college I write about in my story, Harlem University, is based on some of my experiences at Columbia. I live in Pittsford, (Upstate) New York with my three children: Mack, Sophie, and Tori.
