Where were you born? What were your dreams as a child?
I was born in Poland but moved to Canada in 1989 and grew up in Hamilton, Ontario. I studied at Mohawk College in Hamilton and got a diploma in Web Applications - Computer Systems Technician. Nowadays, I assist people online with balance recovery.
How has your background in Web Applications and Computer Systems Technician influenced your approach to writing and publishing books?
Despite being the opposite, one valuable lesson I took away is the need for patience in navigating writing.
Can you describe the most challenging part of your recovery process and how you overcame it?
Writing about my past experiences was an emotional journey, though not with fictional writing. Emotional ups and downs are common during recovery. The choice to change how you are is yours alone. Pay attention to the end result, not the current situation, this will help you push yourself.
What motivated you to write a book specifically to help others in similar circumstances as yours?
When my situation occurred, I looked for help and found almost nothing. I decided that this will be changed with my book “Getting Out”. This kind of access earlier would have steered me in the right direction.
Can you share the story of your personal journey that inspired you to write your book, “Getting Out: My Story Plus The Exercises And Experience I Learned That Can Help You Get Out From The Wheelchair”?
At first, I wanted to ensure that people had answers to their questions, but then it grew to include my exercises. My book achieves the goal of saving them time and money. The exercises alone are extremely helpful and doesn’t necessitate a physiotherapist. The concept is present in all injuries, even though each injury is different.
Could you tell us more about the exercises and experiences you share in your book and how they can assist people with balance recovery?
I am the one performing all the exercises. In my opinion, they are the most effective. Those who have never tried it cannot judge the effectiveness of the exercise. The accuracy of most books I read may be questionable, but their logic is solid.
Your other book, “NAIRB’S STORIES BOOK ONE: DO SOME THINGS JUST HAPPEN?” is a work of fiction. Can you tell us what inspired this story and its themes?
Wanting a superpower was a common childhood desire, which is why I wrote this. Gaining an ability with no explanation.
How do you balance your writing and your work helping people online with balance recovery?
It’s an activity that I adore. Typically, during the late afternoon, I dedicate myself to helping others.
What kind of impact have you seen your books have on those who are seeking balance recovery help?
It feels good to hear that the things I’ve shared are making a difference.
In your free time, you mention that you enjoy reading and writing. What genres do you prefer, and how does your love for literature influence your work?
Every genre has something unique to offer, so I don’t have a favorite. After reading a few pages, you’ll determine if you want to keep reading. I strive to engage my readers and avoid creating a dull book.
How important is exercise in your life, and can you share some tips for maintaining physical well-being, especially for those with mobility challenges?
Being active is essential, and it doesn’t have to involve exercise; engage in something enjoyable. If mobility is a challenge, consider using rubber bands and lift your leg/legs. There are numerous exercises awaiting your participation. By utilizing your upper body, you can perform actions such as bending and lifting objects, among other things. Your negative thoughts are the only excuse.
You mention spending time with your daughter. How has your personal journey affected your relationship with your family?
I won’t go into too much detail, but I have a negative perception of my family, excluding my parents and daughter. Despite my daughter growing up, I still cherish our time together while there are a few things I haven’t done yet. I try to make it fun by engaging us both in other activities.
Could you provide some insights into the themes and ideas you explore in your personal blog at www.iwillbewalking.com and Nairb - The Question by Greg Siofer ?
The blog underwent changes as time passed. It remains my personal diary, but now with significantly more information. Nairb is all about my fictional character and book details. Both are kept updated.
What are your future writing plans and projects? Can we expect more books from you in the future?
I’m in the process of writing the second part of Nairb. My goal is to create a revised edition of Getting Out that includes a greater number of exercises. I’m still undecided about the fictional story for my third book.
