J.S. Andersen Interview On 30, Jul 2019

"Author J.S. Andersen grew up in the Boise, Idaho area. She is a nature fanatic and carries her camera when ever possible. She loves to write about Suspense, Romance Novella, Mysteries, and on. Andersen started writing "Hidden Secrets" when she was in ninth grade and wants to make people laugh, cry, shout, smile, frown, and overall enjoy reading."
Where did you grow up and what was your childhood like?

Nampa, Idaho

Who was your role model?

Laura Ingalls from Little House on the Prairie. Funny thing is I found out recently I'm related to her.

Do you remember the first short story or the first poem you wrote?

Yes, it was in first grade when they used to have the writing contests in grades 1st – 5th. I won in first and in fifth. I still have those books.

Did any of your friends or cousins read it?

I have no idea besides my mom.

Do you prefer to write alone and in a quiet atmosphere? Or in public with a lot of background "white" noise?

Both. It depends on mood.

You often share pictures of animals and plants on your Instagram page. Do you love exploring the nature? Do you own any pets?

I’m a nature fanatic. I have hundreds and hundreds of nature pictures. I now have one cat.

What were your goals with the book "If She Only Knew?" To get a contract and published. Do you think you achieved them?

It was my first book to get a contract with from a publishing company. It’s also been a learning curve to better my writing skills from lots of editing.

How was your experience of writing the multi-author book, Craving Forbidden? Have you read all the twelve stories in anthology?

It was a new experience writing in an anthology and I was a bit nervous at first. And sad to say I haven’t read all the stories. My excuse? I’m writing more books.

What do you love the most about writing exciting romantic suspense stories? To let my imagination flow. What is your story about in the book, Craving Loyalty?

“Chained” is about an F.B.I. agent has to track down her uncle who’s an X Mafia leader. Her way to find answers is to lie to her work partner who’s also is her lover.

Do you prefer writing short stories or a novella over a full-length novel?

The more I write shorter stories; it’s getting harder to write longer ones. I need to break the spell so I can finish the ones I’ve started.

How did you begin writing the book, "Hidden Secrets?"

I started this one when I was in ninth grade. 30+ years later after changing the title, changing it from 1st to 3rd person, deleting the first 120 pages and rewriting, it is now in print. I’m working on book two, Buried Secrets Revealed. Do you have any hidden secrets? Don’t we all? In the long run, there better off staying hidden.

What sparked the idea for your story, "A Billion Reasons" “Romance in the Ally” in Billionaires Club? Who inspired the character of Griff Clint Jackson?

My imagination – who wouldn’t want a strong construction worker for their man?

If you were a tour guide, what would you like a visitor to see in Idaho and what impression would you want them to take away with them when they leave?

I would show them Cleo’s Ferry which sits by the Snake River. The old State Penitentiary in Boise along with the house where James Stewart lived in when he was in the Air Force and where Maureen O’Hara lived until she passed away. I would want the visitor/s to feel welcome and want to come back.

What is your work schedule like when you are writing? How do you educate yourself to take better pictures?

It varies. I can go non-stop for days and then not touch the keyboard or notebook for weeks. I’m bad and need to follow a quote I have on my wall. “Write when you don’t feel like it. (Even if it’s only 5 minutes)

Helpful steps on-line and practice.

What is the one thing you wish you knew when you started your journey of being an author?

How to write a story people will love to read.

Do you think your writings have helped you to keep your name alive? What does literary success look like to you?

Still floating around but hope to be noticed by more readers soon.

How has been your experience to work with AllAuthor? What are some of the things you like and dislike about the site?

I like having a creative blog that’s easy to handle and having the help I need quickly. I’m still new at working with in, but I like how the first page is set up. And the cover contests are great, too. Thank you for your hard work in helping authors like me post their books.
