What developed your love for writing?
I cannot honestly say I have a love for writing; it was not a vital skill I had in high school or college. I had a passion for helping people and a desire to learn whatever hobby or profession I hold. Therefore, after decades of working with truancy and families, I thought that the best way I could help others following my profession is to write down what I have learned to improve other skills and knowledge.
Was your family ever skeptical of your dreams of writing?
My family have always been supportive and encourage for whatever path I chose in life. Whenever I share my goals the support is universal.
Where do you find most of your inspiration?
It comes from my family always saying, "earn your keep "therefore, I felt that if I am getting paid to do a job, I need to ensure I have the skill and knowledge to help those that need my help.
What is one life lesson you've learned while working with dropout-prone students and their families?
I learned that parenting is a skill that's learn while parenting, and they need people in the education system not to make personal judgments but to offer help.
What is the first and foremost reason that you write?
The reason I wrote the book is to share my knowledge and experience with others in the same field to help them quickly gain the skills needed to help others.
While writing your book, Structuring a Detailed School Plan for Absenteeism, Truancy, and Dropout Prevention, How much did you research?
The research was extensive; it included books, reports, articles, research, and my professional experience.
In a parallel universe, if you weren't a writer, what would you be doing with your life?
I would not consider myself a professional writer; again, I have a passion for helping others and the best way to reach the most people is to offer my book.
How do you think you have grown as a writer since your first book?
It increases my awareness of how important it is for those with experience to share with others and make it a priority to put it in writing so we all can grow together.
What steps do you take when you write a book?
Gather all my information together and identify individuals that have experience formatting and editing books to support my needs.
Does writing ever get dull sometimes? If so, how do you pick yourself up and find your inspiration again?
I only have one book, and when I retire soon, I plan on doing this again.
What message do you hope to spread with your books?
I want people in the education field that deal with at-risk students and their families to have the proper knowledge, skill, and training to help the families that need their professionalism.
What are some new ideas and writing methods you want to experiment with in the future?
I have launched an online self-paced course concerning truancy, absenteeism, and dropout prevention.

How many plot ideas are just waiting to be written? Can you tell us about one?
I am currently just finishing writing an online course program that I mentioned earlier, and I plan to write a second edition to my current book.
