      • I think the most difficult part of the artistic process for me is trying to limit myself. I very often have a few or a dozen thoughts running through my mind, and keeping myself from running in a lot of directions takes a type of discipline I'm just learning. Of course, once I can get into a single flow, it's just as hard to stop, and I find myself up for a couple hours in the middle of the night chasing a thread or three.

      • I change genres all the time ;-). My brain, once released from the bonds of a regular job (e.g., retired), ran amok and started spewing ideas from all genres. I have a non-fiction culture book, a cozy fantasy, and have started a vigilante thriller, a coming of age book, a drama about the meeting of Edgar Allan Poe and God, plus several non-fiction books for older folks (now that I have that gene ;-). I'm not sure I can stick to a genre at this point... I have a list of 70+ books with at least a couple paragraphs for each, that are in the queue. And before I get too far, I come up with more. I wish I could have started this earlier, but I supposed I wouldn't have been as ready as I am now! So, I guess the mantra is, "what will he come up with next" ;-)
