BIOGRAPHY

Born in New Orleans, LA, Greg Fischer is the former editor of the Gonzales Weekly Citizen, The Donaldsonville Chief, and the Plaquemine Post-South newspapers. He is the author of "The Mayor of Mardi Gras: A Memoir" and "Dream of Writing: An Original Screenplay." He earned a master's degree in English from Southeastern Louisiana University, where he served as editor of Gambit, a creative writing journal for SLU students. He has bachelor's degrees in creative writing and journalism from Louisiana State University. He is certified in professional copyediting from NYU's School of Professional Studies and is the founder of Make It Write, a proofreading services company.

  - Tricky. I think writing does naturally come at a loss of time spent with others. I've often considered giving up my guitar hobby, but I think a balance of interests can be achieved.
