Born in Danville, Kentucky, M. Lashawn is the youngest of four children. During his youth, his family moved to Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where his passion for horror, gangster, and historical films began to take shape. It was there that he developed a deep fascination with urban movies, drawing inspiration from the stories and fictional characters that captivated him.

Driven by his love for the genre, he set out on a mission to contribute his unique voice to the rapidly growing popularity of urban literature. He poured his creativity onto the pages, crafting his debut book, "The City of Black," with the intention of offering a fresh perspective on this thriving genre. Through his work, M. Lashawn is ready to take readers on an imaginative and thrilling journey.

  - Covid. Being on lockdown was tough times for most but it was actually the greatest time for me, I became a better person. My writing journey became during those times so three years.
