BIOGRAPHY

I started writing my own stories in elementary school. I quickly grew distracted when I finished school and moved on to non-profit work with recovering drug addicts where I worked with people from every walk of life from privileged neighborhoods to the shanty towns of urban and rural South Africa.

One day I met my own real life romantic hero. I instantly married my fellow bibliophile and moved to sunny Florida.

I believe in kindness and the indomitable power of the human spirit. And I am fascinated by the amazing, funny people I have met across the world who dared to change their lives. You can expect mischievous tales of life-changing decisions and character transformations, with elements drawn from my personal experiences. I enjoy writing while drinking excellent coffee and avoiding cookies (properly referred to as biscuits).

      • I have always loved fantasy/sci satire such as Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchett so if I could hone my comedic writing skills to that level, I would give it a try.

      • My husband and I met and married within 15 days over 16 years ago.

        The Duke Wins a Bride explores the concept of quick marriage and the challenges it brings after the wedding. So when the hero proposes, the scene includes my husband's thought process leading to that decision.

        Then, when the heroine, Annabel Ridley, tries to make up her mind about whether to accept the duke's unexpected proposal her internal monologue are the thoughts I processed when my own husband proposed. In real life I made the decision in seconds, but I allowed Annabel a few hours to reach her decision because she had just met Philip Markham that morning.
