"An award-winning author, Paty Jager wanted to be an artist. In Junior High, she wrote and illustrated a cartoon book with a character named Joey Jiggle. She has been writing her whole life, but a turning point was in high school English class. She writes murder mysteries and western romance starring cowboys and Indians. Her favorite dessert is cheesecake."
What is one lesser-known fact about your childhood?

I wanted to be an artist. I painted, molded clay, and drew.

At what age did you write your first book? Did it get published?

I was in Junior High. I wrote and illustrated a cartoon book with a character named Joey Jiggle who had a long pointy nose and a big backside. I had phrases like the Snoopy Happiness is: book that was popular back then. Only I had funny phrases. It did not get published. It did entertain my younger brother.
