BIOGRAPHY

Susan Stoderl, a pink-haired sassy senior, is now on her third career, the first being in opera as a singer, chorister, arranger, conductor, music director, and opera administrator. Her second career was writing the words and music for three operas and four song cycles. Now she lives in Asheville, NC with her husband and dog Watson, a Jack Russell/Min-Pin mix. Besides her blog, “Scribbles & Thoughts” https://www.susanstoderl.net/ and the Sophia of the Bright Red Sneakers series, she is working on a time travel series, The Storyteller.

      • Keeping a life balance. I tend to throw myself into my work and do not take care of myself--something simple such as getting up for ten minutes out of each hour of sitting. Taking time to meditate and exercise and simply have fun.

      • I learned the many things I do incorrectly, particularly grammar and several regional dialect mistakes. Also more words are not necessarily better. Learning to write succinctly but vividly is what makes a good writer.
