      • Just keep at it. Many authors have to work full time jobs and then come home and write. Sometimes, ideas will not flow and the ideas you get while driving or at work may not come to you when you're home. However, it is important to give yourself a break and think about the topics you thought were important and also record them if you can. If other ideas for other chapters come to your mind, then work on those ideas. There's no hard and fast rule that you should go in order. That is the beauty of using a WORD document.
Also, when writing about historical events, make sure that the facts are all correct. Due to the internet, many websites may not give correct factual information. Writer's block and problems in life are normal part of being a writer, but persistence pays.

      • A good cover and title should be catchy. I stress a lot of importance to the graphics because it should catch a person's eye as the person passes past a book shelf. If the graphics gets the person's attention, then after that it should be the title. A title tells the person what the book is about. The curiosity now aroused, the person will read the synopsis at the back of the book or on the dust jacket. If the synopsis is interesting, then the person will definitely decide to read the book and will purchase it.

      • Publishing my first book opened me to a lot of reviews both positive and negative. It was only reading these reviews, that I realized where my strengths and weaknesses were and I knew what I had to work on to develop while writing my next novel. It is not possible to take in all the constructive criticisms, but I could only use what I needed depending on the genre and also on the topic. As always, you're not going to please everyone. I changed my way of writing to a more show and don't tell style of writing. People have different opinions on how that should be done, but an editor can help you develop that art.
