Willow Rose Interview On 17, Feb 2020

"A prolific author, Willow Rose is a talented writer who knows how to develop a compelling storyline. Her books are very intriguing with surprising twists and turns. She has a unique and diverse writing style. Willow Rose is the author of several intense and intriguing series, and her writing style is very polished."
During childhood, did you ever dream of writing and becoming an Amazon All-star Bestselling Author?

Yes every day. I always wanted to be an author and loved to tell stories to my friends in school making them forget to go out and play for recess. Often my teacher would listen in as well and he was the one who encouraged me to keep telling stories.

At what age did you begin writing?

I have always been writing, ever since I learned how to. But it was mostly stories in my head. I didn’t always put them on paper. Not till I grew older. In high school I wrote a lot of short stories.

Have your husband and two daughters read any of your books?

What do they feel about your writing? My husband is the first to read all of my books. He’s my biggest fan and he’ll tell me if there is something he doesn’t like or inconsistencies. You can’t write a book alone. You always need more eyes on it to make sure you haven’t missed anything. He does that for me, along with my editor. My children have read a few, and they loved them. My oldest daughter wants to be an author herself and has already written a book called Don’t Do It. It is also available on Amazon.

What do you love the most about writing Mystery, Thriller, Paranormal, Romance, Suspense, Horror, Supernatural thrillers, and Fantasy?

I write mostly mysteries now as I love to create a puzzle for my readers to solve. I especially enjoy it when they write to me, or in a review, that they were surprised and couldn’t figure it out. That’s when I enjoy what I do the most. That and when they write to me that they’re sick and that reading my books made them forget they were in a hospital bed. That makes me very happy too.

While writing your first book, did you think of selling more than three million books all over the world?

Not of that particular book, no. I always knew I had to grow and get better before I would sell many books. To me it’s a craft that I take great pleasure in perfecting for each book I write.

Meghan is 16 when she dies. Who inspired her character in "Beyond”?

I just needed a young teenage girl, since I was writing it for a teenage audience. Since then I have realized that people of all ages enjoy my Afterlife-series.

What inspired you to write a horror novella, "Humpty Dumpty”?

The nursery rhyme. I read it with my children and I just imagined this little girl, being bullied and called Humpty Dumpty and then her taking terrible revenge.

In what ways do you think "The Vampires of Shadow Hills" is different from Twilight and The Vampire Diaries?

It’s a series about growing up and not knowing if you want to be like your parents. Robyn, the main character realizes at sixteen that her parents are vampires and she doesn’t like what they are one bit. Then she realizes she will have to become one too, once she turns eighteen, and she’s not too thrilled about that. At the same time other teenagers in the neighborhood realizes their parents aren’t what they thought they were either. One has werewolf parents, another witches, a third one realizes she comes from a line of dragons. While solving a mystery, they slowly find this out about themselves and then figure out what they want to be like as grownups. It is one of the most fun series I have written.

Nibble, Nibble, Crunch by Willow Rose is a frightening horror story. What elements did you use to make the story believable?

I am not sure it is very believable at all lol. A girl finds a snowman in her backyard and wonders who made it. Then the snowman eats a dog and she realizes it’s no ordinary snowman.

Which book was the hardest to write in the Eva Rae Thomas Mystery series?

The 4th one was tricky because I was evacuated from hurricane Dorian as I was in the middle of it. I had to pack all my stuff down and evacuate to the mountains of North Carolina, where I wrote the rest while praying I had a house to come home to afterwards.

What has been the most challenging part about being an Amazon ALL-star Author of more than 70 novels?

Keeping up with my readers. They keep telling me to write faster and there’s always a character or series they want me to write next. I hate to disappoint them.

Several of your books have reached the top 10 of ALL books on Amazon in the US, UK, and Canada. What has kept you motivated throughout the journey?

I have just had fun. Writing is what I love, so I don’t really need that much motivation. Sure there are days when I am tired and don’t feel like it, but then I know to just do it anyways. Because I always end up enjoying it so much once I get into the story.

What are you currently working on? Is it a series or a standalone?

I have just published the second book in a new series. Harry Hunter is a Miami PD detective. He has a daughter and a wife that is in a vegetative state after an OD. He struggles to keep up with his career and taking care of everything at home. Meanwhile he’s falling in love with his neighbor who has been taking care of him and his family for the past three years while his wife has been like this. He doesn’t want to admit he’s falling for her, because how can he? His wife is technically still alive. On top of that he is struggling to keep his job, because he is away so much, and now he has thrown himself at a case no one asked him to solve. The first book is called All the Good Girls, and is out now. The second is Run Girl Run, and was released Feb. 15. I am currently working on the third one called No Other Way. It will be out March 25th.

How long on an average does it take you to promote a book? How has been your experience working with AllAuthor?

My husband does all of my promotion while I write. He says he keeps promoting the books all the time so they don’t lose momentum. He says working with AllAuthor has been great.
