The characters stood out the most to me. Each one main character has personality and depth so they feel three dimensional. They're good characters so I like them and want good things to happen to them.
My favorite quote in the book is the quote that Ashley said to Sonny, ‘Sometimes there are things that happen, and we have to grow up faster.’ She was accepting that fact that they can't be kids anymore in a dangerous unforgiving world. She was willing to put away childish things to survive.
