The idea for this book came from a discussion between my hubby and me while on a walk. The sun was beginning to set and I was telling him how editing was going with another book I was working on. I can't remember exactly what drew us to talk about vampires, but I said to my hubby that with the sun going down it would be the perfect time for vampires to come out. Even better, if the sun never rose. It would be a vampires dream. From there we began talking about ways that the sun would be prevented from rising. A spell could do it. But only for one city, It would be too chaotic for the world to be dark.
Now just to weave romance to it. When we got home, I went right to the computer and when my fingers touched the keys the story began to flow. What I didn't;t plan for was a sequel, let alone a series. When I submitted the story to my publisher she suggested I do just that. And so, that is how the Darkness started.
