I know, the cover isn't elaborate. But I did have a purpose with its design. I wanted to evoke the simplicity of Anton LeVey's Satanic Bible without plagiarizing the cover of that book. The story itself has a black book prophecy inherent to the plot. An upside down cross is a standard trope in devil cult stories. And dripping blood, well, this is a horror novel. I thought that the simplicity of the cover worked well for this particular story.
