How Poppy Got Her Wings
by Donna RentfrowPublish: Jul 04, 2015Children's Book Overview
The moral of this whimsical children’s fiction is that old cliché: “There’s no place like home.” The setting of the story is in a rural area near Sylacauga, a small city located in Central Alabama. Poppy, the pig, is bored with her normal life of daily routine on the farm and imagines any other place would be better. She finds a way to escape and after an adventurous day away from home, she can’t wait to get back to her familiar surroundings and to be with her family and friends. This children's book is beautifully illustrated and the story is delightfully entertaining. It is suitable for all ages. This is a book that adults will enjoy reading to children, as well.
