C. L. Swinney is the author of nine international best-selling true crime books and a best-selling Crime Fiction series. As a narcotic detective who assisted in several homicide investigations over the last 17 years, he brings his tenacious investigative techniques to the stories he writes. According to his latest Kirkus Review, he gives victims in the true crime books he writes a voice...which has always been his passion.

Chris consulted for a mini-series in Hollywood based on a serial killer cold case being re-opened. He's been interviewed several times for television and radio programs, and his latest work, List of Ten, is being considered for television and film rights. Chris also contributes to PoliceOne.com, his blog, and various social media sites on a regular basis.

C. L. Swinney also wrote a best selling crime fiction series- The Bill Dix Detective Series- featuring his lead character, Bill Dix. With four novels in the series, and glimpses into the true world of narcotics and homicide, the series has been a best seller for years. Characters in the novels are based on people Chris worked with, investigated, used as informants, or arrested while working wiretaps or in an undercover capacity.
