BIOGRAPHY I would rather write than read, and this is because I start a book off without any plot, then develop it as the characters arrive, assert their personalities on it, and turn it into a thriller, mystery, or a light romance. I usually have a time–modern or historical–in mind, and a place. Sometimes even an event I want... to highlight. I just start my character going and enjoy the book as it unfolds. I often have to go back and re-write the beginning, but by then I know where I'm going.read more
