I'm an environmental activist, animal rescuer, skeptic and hesitant optimist.

Lover of Santa Monica's Dark Side, dual Canadian/American citizen, and Californian. My novels feature complex characters and plots rather than explosions and car chases. It's all a matter of taste, isn't it?

Crime fiction author, 6 crime fiction novels in 2 series, one featuring a homicide detective in the Santa Monica, California police department, the 2nd featuring a Kern county sheriff's department detective and his prickly ally, a village patrol officer. Both series are police procedurals.

I've also published 7 EBooks on topics that help you in "Writing Your First Mystery". I love talking to emerging mystery writers and do an occasional editing job if I really like the work. I spend way too much time alone and appreciate human contact.
