Regaining his health and strength aboard a US warship, and with hostilities ashore reaching a conclusion, Patrick is determined to exact retribution on his partner’s murderers. By a stroke of good fortune, a marine unit on coastal patrol discover his boat abandoned in a mangrove lagoon, leading Patrick to conclude that the killers have dumped it here and fled the island. In this, and many other assumptions, Patrick is horribly mistaken.
