AJ is an excellent central figure for the tale to play around, with a bright, quirky nature and a feisty attitude at just the right moments. Author Anita Bombard describes the gorgeous but hard-boiled Detective Stone with all the right notes for an alpha male romance lead, and their personal interplay gets them into all sorts of fun situations which both help and hinder the case. The plot is solid and not easy to predict, making for plenty of surprises and an interesting and satisfying conclusion to a seemingly impossible problem. Overall, Befuddled is a recommended read for all cozy mystery fans, as well as those chick-lit readers looking for a new genre with the same sense of fun. read more
