BOOK OF TRICKS 2: THE DOLDRUMS.This book contains three new short stories, in a follow-up to Book of Tricks: Six Cruel and Unusual Short Stories. The first follows a young boy with the gift of second sight, who tries to warn his neighbours about an impending disaster which will kill them all. The second is a cynical bit of political satire, inspired in part by Brexit and all the ridiculous stuff that comes with it. And lastly, a story of the forces of nature and how something small, can cause something big to happen.
THE WITCH SEA.
A young boy is born the seventh son of a seventh son, and is given the gift of second sight. He and his family live in a remote frontier town in the West. His hell raising brothers and his criminal father are terrorising the town. But the boy is earning a dollar predicting people’s futures, while warning them to get out of town. He sees disaster coming…
FARTLAND.
England 2037. Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Cornwall, have all left the United Kingdom. Only England survives out of all of its glory and the empire that once spanned the globe. A puritan leader is clamping down on all forms of bad behaviour, including farting. Farting is banned and the public are forced to breathe a detection gas, where if someone lets rip it turns it purple and the police are alerted to their crime. The public are also forced to install fart detectors in their homes. But this is the last straw. After all they’d been through, the people will rise up and rid themselves of this puritan bully, hoping freedom can be won.
DOMINO.
