BIOGRAPHY
Hi everyone, I'm the NYT Bestselling author of Pi tures of You, Is This Tomorrow and Cruel Beautiful World and 8 other novels. My new novel With or Without You, is coming from Algonquin on August 4th and already has (Yay!) rave blurbs from Joan Silber, Madeline Miller, Ron Rash, Lidia Yuknavitch, and 8 more. I am a New York Foundation of the Arts Fellow, I was longlisted for the Maine Readers Prize, and I was a finalist at the Sundance Screenwriters lab for both pilot and feature film. I'm a book critic for People, The Boston Globe and the San Francisco Chronicle and I teach novel writing online at Stanford and UCLA, and I do developmental editing for private clients. I live in NYC's unofficial 6th borough, Hoboken with my husband, the writer Jeff Tamarkin, and we a superb actor son, Max!
