By the last decade of the nineteenth century, Las Vegas, New Mexico is booming to the extent a college, Lake Forest University, opens in town. Clinton Monroe recognizes an opportunity to escape an impending church-related sex scandal in Detroit and obtain an education by relocating to Las Vegas. In August of 1893, Clinton arrives in the western town, calling himself Clint, looking to start a new adventure.
With help from a desk clerk and his co-worker, the newcomer easily finds living accommodations in a loft above the livery stable, which he shares with a rodeo cowboy named Xavier. A part time job and enrollment in the university are as easily arranged, so Clint is prepared for his new life in the partially tamed Wild West.
Steamy hot sex with a string of casual partners leaves Clint physically satisfied but emotionally unfulfilled, leading him to vow waiting for the possibility of a meaningful relationship. Opportunity arrives in the form of accidental injury to Xavier, who Clint assumes is straight. The temporarily immobilized cowboy must rely on Clint for assistance with basic daily functions−cooking, eating, bathing, dressing, etc. Can the enforced physical intimacy lead to something more?
