Surrounded by people he doesn't know, Jubal is relieved to have his former partner, Mike Palmer, at his side, but soon realizes that something happened that has changed him. Jubal is no longer sure he is the same man he once trusted his life to.
Lucifer has gone into hiding after being attacked by the Archangel Immanuel, the spy God sent with an incurable disease He created to kill the immortal Lucifer.
