Note, this is a politically incorrect novel, it discusses the current administration in an unfavorable light.
Following the events of Shelter Book 1, Jay, his neighbors and friends have no choice but to face the aftermath together. The resilient group of survivors never thought they would actually have to live in the shelters they worked so hard to construct. They begin facing issues they hadn't accounted for; the confinement in small spaces, clashing personalities and conflicting opinions on how to handle the hostile group on the surface. Jay's inner demons and guilt come out causing him to almost slip into a dark abyss.
While Jay and his extended family are trying to deal with their inner demons in their shelter, China and the US Navy are fighting the largest naval battle since the Second World War. A battle which will determine who will own Hawaii.
The US Army is trying to restore order in the country while dealing with millions of starving and angry citizens.
China reaches out to the citizens in California, explaining how their lives would improve if they vote to merge with the PRC.
The President and Congress are playing political games while the country comes apart. When things look like they can't get any worse, Jay's enemy, the local Sheriff shows up at Jay's house looking to finally get what he thinks he deserves. Jay takes three men with him to perform a recon of his home when Mother Nature turns against him.
Book 2 in the Shelter series deals with the problems the people in the shelter have to deal with and the repercussions of being isolated underground, while the world above them is filled with violence, confusion, hunger and the world wide economic melt down.
