Kyla was born in Hidden Rock Hollow in Kentucky, the only child of a preacher. She leaves in the middle of the night with her friend Bonnie Belle, who is pregnant. Kyla delivers the child when Bonnie Belle goes into labor. When Kyla arrives at the home for unwed mothers, she has no memory of her life, no baby with her, not in her womb nor in her arms.
