The second book in this series is about the choices Kendall made. The promise he gave and where it led him. In book one, Mr. Anderson told Kendall to get married. That he would blend in better. So, he did, and he hated every moment of it. In this book it’s about the conflict of Kendall being marry and being an agent. How he tries to be a good husband, father but in the end, he knows he must be true to himself. He wants to go back but Mr. Anderson said no. He must stay and complete his mission. This book starts the story of Carly. The gift she was born with, and the promise Kendall made. Kendall learns that her gift can see right through him. Carly sees Kendall for who he really is. The part of him he hides from others. Kendall seeks out a wise woman who tells Kendall that the monster inside him is something he can not control. It is a part of him. Kendall asks the wise women to hide Carly gift, so he won’t be found out. The story is also about Dani and how all she ever wanted to do was get married. How she almost given up on that dream. Then she met Kendall. This story is about her dream and how she realizes it not what she thought it would be. Dani struggles with being married, raising two small girls. Thrown into an environment away from family and friends. Kendall realizes in this place, the rules he lives by won’t get him anywhere and learns to adapt. He makes new friends but longs for the life he had in Los Angles. In the end Kendall makes a choice to be who he was train to be. An agent. He runs away from his family knowing that they would be safer without him.
