In this book, the author recounts adventures in Italy, a country she had grown to love. The author started taking friends on tours in Italy and she recounts visits to hill towns, cities, seashores and mountains. Since she had no idea of how to lead a tour, there are incidents of less than fun items: getting lost, tour members wandering off on their own, but along the way, we learn the history of different regions, we meet the Italian people who live in these areas, we go to markets and learn to prepare wonderful Italian food in tiny kitchens. As we walk along on the cobblestone streets with the author and her friends, we can feel the love of Italy that eminates throughout the book. The author also recounts her experiences of traveling solo, and tells us of her love of the country, in a way to ensure the reader feels the love of Italy and will feel the pull to travel to the amazing country as well.
