Chase, who started dreaming of murders to come at the age of 13, is on the verge of losing all hope when he meets the Coven family who share his talent. They convince him to leave life as he knows it to attend a special school for four years in order to develop his talent and, more importantly, meet his match...his soulmate that will complete his dreams.Four years later, Chase leaves St. Hugo’s and officially joins the Coven family, however, there is one small problem: he hasn’t found his match. This has never happened in the Coven family’s history.
The other Covens continue saving the people in their own dreams and fighting the group who wish to stop them, the Counters, all while trying to help Chase navigate through life at a new school.
Chase makes friends quickly and becomes especially close to a girl named Andrea, who is not his match. This complicates things further for the Coven family since they will ultimately have to deal with this relationship when Chase finds his match.
Things are looking up for Chase and he is ecstatic when his best friends from his childhood, Chris and Mike, show up at his new school. The trio catch up on what happened during their years apart and Chris can't wait to introduce Chase to his long time girlfriend. But when the two are introduced Chase's whole world turns upside down yet again.
