Laura and Alan—forensic archaeologist and sheriff’s detective—are at it again, working on two challenging cases. Against long odds, Alan is trying to solve the theft of a valuable etching. Laura is embroiled in an equally daunting case: seeking to identify a woman, murdered 20 years earlier, and her killer. Alan’s investigation is stymied at every turn because it involves a six-state crime spree in stolen art. Laura encounters the disreputable face of conversion therapy along with corruption in a big-city police department. Will these difficult cases end their winning streak and remain unsolved? Will their plans to marry be thwarted by Laura’s father? Will all really end well for everyone? Comfy in your easy chair, favorite drink in hand, you will enjoy learning the answers to these questions.
BIOGRAPHY While trying to figure out what she wanted to be when she grew up, Annette Schiffer found happiness and fulfillment in her personal life as a wife, mother, and now grandma, and in her professional "do gooder" life as a La Leche League Leader, wildlife rehabilitator, and college and career advisor in Tucson, Arizona, and Washington, D.C.
Now retired, Annette collaborates with husband Michael Brian Schiffer, and is channeling her vivid imagination and insights into human behavior through mystery novels.
The Schiffers' books appear in the series, The Oak Grove Chronicles. Book 1, A Buzz About Campus, Book 2, Holy Smoke!, and Book 3, A Tough Nut to Crack have been published and are available in paperback and ebook at amazon.com, barnesandnoble.com. Book 4, Vintage Crimes, is now available in paperback, Kindle and Nook on amazon.com and barnesandnoble.com. Book 5, Family Loyalty, is now available in paperback and ebook! Book 6, All's Well That Ends Well?, is also available through amazon.com and barnesandnoble.com. It is the final book of this series.
Tightly plotted, the cozy mysteries are a warmhearted blend of serious and silly, delightful cozies.
Michael has branched out on his own (with lots of input from Annette) and has published Scoop of the Century, Down the Rabbit Hole, Diamonds Are Forever, and We Are the Aliens: An Archaeological Odyssey. These are all mysteries with interesting plots and characters, and in some, a touch of science fiction. We hope you'll enjoy them too!
