NAIRB’S STORIES BOOK ONE
DO SOME THINGS JUST HAPPEN?
Which won a Silver Award at Literary Titan 2023.
One morning, Nairb awakens to the sound of his coworker honking his horn as he arrives to pick him up for work. As he goes about his workday, he encounters mysterious situations. A bit confused, he later told his wife Grace about his experiences. He discovered he can heal, start fires, short circuit electronic devices that emit thick smoke, heat objects, and melt metal.
Throughout the story, Nairb heals people, burns down his house, melts a car, and hides from the police with Jim’s help.
What would you do if you woke up and discovered you had extraordinary powers? In The Question: Do Some Things Just Happen? by Greg Siofer, that’s exactly what happened to Nairb, an unassuming and ordinary guy, or at least he used to be. Nairb and his wife quickly learned about the various abilities which seem to have manifested within Nairb following several incidents. From melting metal to being able to heal himself and others, Nairb found himself with an array of new capabilities. Unfortunately, things start to get messy when Nairb uses his powers to help those around him, which results in him getting caught on video and being hunted down.
I enjoyed The Question: Do Some Things Just Happen? by Greg Siofer and, despite it being on the short side, it is by no means lacking as a book. The story was engaging and interesting with likable characters that have you laughing at their antics. Nairb and his wife Grace are both ordinary people and so I found it quite amusing to see how they handled every strange occurrence that was plaguing their lives. In the same breath, there are also darker elements to the story with a bit of mystery thrown in as well. The constant eerie feeling lurking in the background is palpable as you try to guess who is after Nairb. The book was beautifully written with a good plotline and even better characters. I found myself breezing through this book and looking forward to the next.
