He is devastated when he remembers their love and wants her back. Can he prove to her that he is a changed man worthy of her and their daughter? His reformed behavior, apologies and declarations of love seem sincere, but can she forgive the past or trust him with her heart again?
He jerked her into him. She begins to pound against his chest. She sputtered out her pain. “Why, why did you have to do this to us? I loved you my whole life. Damn you Jett Santiago. You ruined everything.”
A look of regret and sadness was on his face. “Listen this is no excuse, but I want you to understand what happened to me. After the two consecutive concussions when I woke up in the hospital, I had among other symptoms, memory lapses, anger, and impulse control issues.” He clenched his jaw and real tears of agony were in his eyes. “Baby, I forgot us. I did not remember that I fell in love with you or our life plans. I remember now and I want another chance for our forever.”
She put her hand over her mouth to stifle her laughter at watching her daughter chastise Jett. Sinclair had her hands on her hips so like her mama. She was pointing at the red roses that were tossed into the garbage bin. “Oh, you are going to be in so much trouble Daddy. Those are from my mommy’s boyfriend Blake. He says he has a crush on my mommy.”
Jett shuffled his feet before answering her charge. “Well, he is not her boyfriend anymore they broke up. She has someone new now.” That man was unbelievable. Sinclair’s ears perked up at that statement. “Oh, ok who is it?” He winked at their daughter and told her a big lie. “I am going to be your mommy’s husband.” Sinclair tilted her head to the side thinking over the new title. “Ok so is a husband better than a boyfriend?” He patted her head and knelt in front of her. “Yes, it means we will all live together. Do you want your daddy and mommy to live together with you?” A wave of anger rushed over her. She muttered to herself. “That sneaky rat.” Their daughter was now jumping up and down in excitement. “Yes, yes will it be forever?” He looked around their dancing daughter and caught her spying on them. She crossed her arms and glared at him. Looking straight into her eyes he declared. “Yes, we will be a family. I want to be there with you and your mommy forever if your mommy will give me the chance.”
