Taylor takes a new job as a maintenance man in an apartment building. When the hidden tenant in apartment 1A has a leak that he must repair, he grows curious of the mystery woman. She's hostile during their first encounter but after a few visits from Taylor she begins to soften up.
Novella was cursed with unbelievable beauty, and she knew it. While on vacation in Louisiana, a trip to a psychic causes her to see herself through a different set of eyes. She secludes herself to her apartment refusing to leave, afraid that people will scream when they see what she looks like. When Taylor moves in across the hall, she wants nothing more than to get rid of this curse.
