Life is great for the frogs and one turtle who live at Meadow Pond--except, of course, for the weekends when the Mean Redboat kids come to the nearby lake. Then they must stay hidden or risk being captured and taken away, never to be seen again.
But the rest of the week they are free to enjoy their pond and to explore ... around in their green meadow. Free, that is, until Hes-per, the giant snake from the edge of the forest, decides he wants a frog to eat!
Soon Hes-per becomes a big problem, and the frogs are too scared to leave their pond. What are they to do?
Web, Meadow Pond's bravest frog, has an idea. Will his idea work? Will Hes-per finally go away so the frogs can be safe once again?read more
BIOGRAPHY I'm a former grade school teacher who always wanted to write a children's book, and I wanted it to be about frogs. And it was. I hadn't planned on writing any more books, but I ended up writing four more. I'm working on my sixth book right now.
I never dreamed I would be an illustrator. After failing to get so... meone to illustrate my first book, I didn't know what to do. Then a relative suggested I illustrate my book myself. It took me seven hours to draw my first character. Now, I enjoy drawing my different characters.
Since I taught fourth and fifth grade for many years, I used the experiences of the classroom for my award-winning second book.
I also enjoy writing poetry, painting pictures on small wooden blocks, craft fairs, camping in our RV, and being a news junkie.read more
