Monty’s Silly Seascape is a lyrical, laugh-filled children’s picture book full of imagination, rhythm, and delight. Written in playful nonsense verse and illustrated in soft, vintage watercolor, this dreamy read-aloud invites little ones into an undersea world where sea bunnies ride sea bears, papaya chickens march through glitter sea goo, and co-conutty pigs grow on trees.Bedtime stories are more than just routines—they’re moments of connection, calm, and comfort. Reading to children before sleep helps build vocabulary, improve listening skills, and create lasting emotional bonds. This story goes a step further by embracing the power of imaginative play.
Monty’s underwater journey is packed with fantastical creatures and silly surprises that stretch the imagination and encourage creative thinking. The dreamlike setting allows children to explore without limits—where Bananosauruses surf on toast and sea donkeys graze on candy sea floors.
Nonsense verse, like the kind found in classic works by Dr. Seuss and Edward Lear, has been shown to support early language development. Its rhythm and rhyme help children recognize patterns, play with sounds, and grow confident in the way words move and feel.
Written by best-selling authors Julie L. Kusma and Derek R. King, Monty’s Silly Seascape is a joyful blend of poetic prose, artistry, and bedtime magic. Perfect for ages 3–8, this story makes a lovely gift, classroom addition, or nightly ritual.
If your child dreams big and laughs even bigger, let Monty lead the way.
