Yes, with a bottle of wine and a cigarette...or at least it feels that way. I am literally petrified when I get a review. I get clammy and my heart rate picks up. It's like having someone critique your child. I am very protective of my child. I got reviews that hurt my little feelings and I had to remember no one in the world has gotten everyone to agree on anything. Period. Then when I went back months later to reread...it wasn't as bad as I initially thought.
With all growth must come learning, awareness and acceptance.
Keep writing. Write down all those stories you made up in your head. We can use them one day!
Also, you are amazing and can do anything. Stop living in the shadows and let them know your talents!
I remember reading a book and thinking...I think I have a story to tell. I was always in my thoughts. If I got a moment alone I was daydreaming. Then it hit me. Last me try and get a story out of my head and on paper. I let my most opinionated friends read it and the rest is history! I started writing books around after the birth of my 5yr old. I wanted a legacy of my work for her.
