      • I'm going to think of this question more in these terms: which authors have most inspired my writing. This is because I like to think I model my writing on those authors I most admire. So my answer is definitely that I try to emulate the fun times and full hearts of books by Julia Quinn, Lisa Kleypas, and Sarah Maclean.

      • I usually incorporate small details. For example, I practice aerial and circus arts, and in a book that will be released in 2021, the heroine dabbles with circus performance.

      • True story: writers block isn't real. *cue big cheesy grin* I'm an editor and writing coach, too, and believing in writer's block is so damaging. Writers can control this. What we think of as writer's block is when we're sitting around WAITING for ideas to come to us, but that's not how it happens. Writers have to create ideas and seek out inspiration. Once you embrace this, writer's block is banished for life.

      • I've been writing since I was probably 5 years old. I wrote a little counting book. Then I hit the poetry HARD. I spent several years dabbling in Jane Austen fanfic. Then, in about 2014, I began to seriously dedicate myself to writing. I've always been inspired by good stories, stories that grip us and show us how to live life, how to be better and do better. Fiction is powerful, and I've always wanted to be a part of that.
