Yes, one of the books that I am in is based on our real lives. All the women in the book are survivors of one type of abuse or another. It's probably the hardest thing that I have ever written.
A very good author friend encouraged me to find my voice after reading a poem that I had written. With his encouragement and a lot of pushing and shoving...lol...he finally got me to start writing more and sharing my work with the world.
