      • When I’m actively writing, my daily goal is to write at least 2,000 words. I’m not saying I’ll keep all of them but it helps me avoid writers block. If I need to, I’ll stop short. This will happen if I write myself into a corner and I need a little time to figure out an escape.

      • The title and cover are the first thing a potential reader will see. My own novel “A Trio of Worlds” started life being called “The Negotiator.” After I had written nearly the entire book, inspiration struck me and I renamed it. I double checked to see if other books had the same name because I want unique not cookie-cutter!

      • My advice is to just keep writing! You can discard or repurpose writing that does not fit, but to stop writing altogether is a novel killer. They say that everyone has one good novel in them. I don’t know if that is true, but it sure is fulfilling to finish that first novel!
