Interrupted Dreams is inspired by an extremely personal time in my life, and the sense of vulnerability that comes with doing so is stressful enough. The ability to self-publish via Amazon's KDP platform relieved the anxiety I have seen other aspiring writers go through as they query and hope someone is willing to take a chance on them. It enabled me to focus on the story I wanted to write.
I've only written the one book, Interrupted Dreams, but if I were to start writing it today, it would be an entirely different book. I was too ambitious early on and had thought I would explore the entire timeline of events. Today, The book would begin in the latter half of Interrupted Dreams, and many events that were cut out would be explored more in depth. I still expect to write another novel that does just that when I am finished with the Interrupted Dreams Trilogy.
Interrupted Dreams is inspired by true events in my life. Much of what is in the story happened in real life. But, I wrote it as fiction so I could create a more compelling story that people will want to read.
