To me, literary success looks like inspiring people. It looks like writing something that acts as a mirror for someone else, encouraging them and giving them hope.
Although I am grateful for both the compliments and the criticism that I have received about my writing, I try not to focus too heavily on reviews. Being too focused on reviews can become a distraction. I try to look at book reviews objectively. Everyone isn't going to like my writing and that's okay. Everyone has different preferences, likes and dislikes.
I am grateful for the people that do like my writing and I hope that my work can inspire or encourage them in some way. I am grateful for the people that do not like my writing and I am thankful to them for taking the time to read my work and for even considering it.
A good book cover and title acts as a window into the overall theme of the author's writing. The most important thing to consider when creating a book cover or coming up with a title is whether that cover or title accurately reflects the overall essence of your work.
Growing up, I always wanted to write professionally but I wasn't sure that it was something that I would be able to adopt as a full-time career. I was so happy to learn, as an adult, that writing can become a full-time professional career and that it isn't only thought of as a part-time hobby or interest.
