    • If you could choose three people to invite for a dinner party, who would they be and why?

      • I would invite my mother (who died in 2001), mostly because I miss her immensely. I'd invite Colleen Hoover, who I think would be a hoot at a dinner party. And maybe a Camino friend (or two), who are both a lot of fun. Dinner parties are supposed to be fun and light and uplifting.

      • Someone asked me this question recently. I wouldn't change a lot, because it's made me the person I've become today. However, I would have started writing novels earlier.

      • Much like what it's like when I'm editing, marketing etc... I get to work in my home office around ten where I work until noon, have a quick lunch (checking the news and social media pages, maybe look at some business stats while I eat), then go back to work until about five or six. Somewhere in there I take a walk, although if I know it'll be an intense day, I walk in the morning before I head to the office.

      • All of my books have a heavy subject of some kind, so I build in self-care into the book timeline. If you know that the book you are writing will be draining, build down time into your book timeline.

      • Yes. Camino Wandering was based around my own Camino wander, in 2018 and 2019, although I fictionalised the storyline. I was inspired by some other pilgrims for some of the characters in that book, but loosely. There are character elements in Beneath the Surface that are based on fact. For The Decisions We Make, I used my own experience with grief and relationship with my grandparents to write that book.
