While many a wise and apparently seasoned author will disagree with me, I myself like the cover(s) of my book. The pocket watch really exists and is in my possession, for now, and is at the core of the story. Without that watch there would be no book. I also have made a cover that includes a black and white photo of my father, his father, and his grandfather together in or around 1953. Again, without those three men, there would be no book. Sure, I know, I know; to play with the big boys you need to invest heavily in what is considered an eye-catching cover. Perhaps one day I will do so. The intent of my book and its cover is not to play with any big boys, though; it is to catch the mind, ear and spirit of those who understand.
Sure it's a simple kind of homespun sort of cover. Simplicity has always worked pretty well for me in my life. I'll stick with what has worked so far.
