Asian culture and history. The Asian countries such as China, Korea, and Japan are so much older than the USA. I have studied everything I can to ensure I am not disrespecting them in any way. Even though I write fantasy, I want to respect the knowledge and culture they have.
I wanted to be an archeologist. But math is hard and writing is easy for me. I wrote a lot as a teen, mostly to cope with growing up but that has carried on into my adulthood.
Sticking to a routine. I am constantly thinking about my stories at I am very good at procrastination. If I could hold to a routine and create good habits, I would be so much better off.
I have always been a writer. But at the age of 47, I had something personal happen that made me finally finish college with a AA in Theater so I could write screenplays. I have written two short films, both which have been produced. But the film scene is hard and publishing a novel can be done alone with less of a budget than producing a film. So I have been focused on writing as a career since 2017.
