I served in the British Army for almost thirty-five years. Some of the scenes in my 'Unlikely Soldiers' series are based on real events during my service, the others are pure fiction. I let my readers guess which is which!
I started working with a few local musicians, by writing lyrics to their music. We co-wrote a number of songs then I wrote my own. I have absolutely no musical talent so my song 'Fallen Heroes' sounds quite hymn-like. I then decided to write a rhyming children's story and the rest seemed to follow on naturally.
