      • The story actually came to me after reading a small very short story my daughter wrote for school. It stimulated the creative process in me and I couldn’t help but feel drawn to write a book, filling out a full plot with a community of characters. I definitely asked her permission to write it and she was thrilled. Especially when it arrived in print.

      • Writing should be enjoyable. If it’s hard and you’re frustrated, take a break. If you’re writing against a deadline, that can be tough. You want your best work to show. For me, being in the writing zone was great. I did my best work then. But, I never forced anything.

      • I don’t have a specific genre. I have a specific type of protagonist. That character tells her story and the plot and genre develop from there.

      • I’ve always wanted to write, since as long as I can remember. I started my career as a technical writer with a degree in Computer Science. I wrote computer user manuals. After I “retired “ from working outside my home, I began to write fiction, which was always my ultimate dream. The stories just poured out of me.

      • Understanding how to write well. Grammar, sentence structure, plot development, character profiles, conflict use. If you don’t understand the basics, you won’t be able to make any story a memorable story.
