    • Have you ever incorporated something that happened to you in real life into your novels?

      • All of my books have portions of events that happened in real life in them. For example, my first book "Goliath" has a character that is dealing with a bipolar condition and in real life, one of my brothers is bipolar. Portions of the story are true, but most of it is fiction.

In "The Legacy", one of the characters has Crohn's Disease as does one of the members of my family. People who know me and my family will recognize some of the personalities in my books, although in some cases, I've combined them into composite characters.

My best selling book "The Back Nine" is about golf, but it's mostly about the issues you face after turning fifty. When I lived in London, I worked as a starter at a golf course. Some of the stories and characters are based on people I met there, some are based on my personal experiences, and some are complete fiction.
